The larger historic town of Xativa is 15 minutes away with all the shops etc that you would expect from a larger Spanish working town, buzzing nightlife, numerous banks, shops, supermarkets even including it's own castle! There is also a train station where you can be in Valencia in 30minutes for the cost of about 9e for a day return. There is also the British school here if you needed one. Just 15 minutes inland from Xativa you will find the lovely lakes & waterfalls in Anna & Chella for those not wanting the beaches if not the beaches of Tavernes are 20minutes by car & the water park in Cullera is 35 minutes away...
